Ganesha in Vastu: Video

July 18th 2008 20:59
Category: Vastu
In my earlier post titled "Ganesha in Vastu" on this blog, I had posted that Ganesha figurines should be placed back to back atop the entrance of your house to ward off all neative effects of incorrect Vastu of the House. In this Video I demonstrate exactly how and where you should put the Ganesha Figurines. Since my readers are from all different countries and Ganesha is a famous Lord not only in India but many other countries, the video does not have a voiceover but only text and visuals demonstrating the concept.
Ganesha in Vastu

This is my first attempt in uploading a video and I have my fingers crossed for the reactions from my readers.

By the way - "Ganesha in Vastu" is one of the most read and commented posts I have written on this blog.

God Bless

Hello Ma Upma, I like the approach, but the video portion was very fuzzy. With a better video camera, your presentation will be far more dynamic. Everything else was fine.

Thank you for caring enough to share this things.

Thanks Raven. I agree a better (and costlier) video camera should help. Though the illumination of light in the lobby of my entrance is fine it is not friendly with my camera. I had to actually better the contrast and brightness using software to achieve whatever I could in the video portion.

I am planning for a better camera once I make a list of all the concepts I can explain through video. If they are many in number then it makes sense for me to invest on a better camera. I too an not convinced with the quality.

very cool, creating and uploading your own video!

artworks and figurines representing Ganesha are usually very beautiful, very calming to look at

Film was a little blurry. May come up if you adjust the contrast but that may also make it blotchy.

However I have always been fascinated with images of Ganesha. Hindu Temples are very decorative.

The practice of using him to ward off bad vibes is similar to the practice of using Yakkas in Sri Lanka.

Thanks Dano for the comment and visiting the post.

I know the video is blurred and am learning how to improve on videography

Dear Maa Upma,

I saw the video about installing Ganesha back to back on the entrance of one's house. I have a question related to the same. I have a pebbled wall around my front entrance, it therefore becomes difficult to stick a picture or an idol on the wall. Can I stick a picture of Ganesha on the door instead?

Also as I enter my home I have a porch and there is another door which then leads to the house. Shall I place Ganesh on the main door or inside the door. In the porch I keep shoe cupboards which have doors. One chinese money plant and a tiny Laughing buddha. Kindly advise.

Thanks a million for your guidance. It means a lot.

Regards
Gunmayi.

Dear Gunmayi

You cannot place the Ganesha pictures on the door itself. So I guess you will have to find a way of doing it on the wall above the door frame.

For the later part of your question - I suggest you undertake a paid ocnsultation and I will be more than happy to go through the layout of your house and suggest appropriate solutions. My Email ID is written in the text next to my photograph at the top of this page.

Dear Maa Upma,

Thanks for your mail. I will take into account your advise.

I have a metal Ganpati idol with a trunk which curves right and then left. Can he be kept in the house or not?

I also have a metal wall plaque with goddess Saraswati, Laxmi and Ganesh with his trunk again turned to the right. Can I keep this or shall put it in a proper temple.

Regards
Gunmayi

Dear Maa Upma,

I sent you a comment earlier and am still awaiting a reply from you. Can I keep a metal frame containing Ganesha(with trunk curved to the right), Laxmi and Saraswati in my house. If not can I go and give it to the temple. Also if I go and put it in a temple does this bring bad luck. I feel quite stresses about it. What shall I do.

Plaese do kindly write to me.

Regards
Gunmayi

Dear Hema

At home you can place Ganesha's Idol which has his trunk curved towards his left. When you see the idol by standing in front of it the trunk should be towards your right hand

Hope that clarifies
