Significance of Water in Vastu

Vastu defines the five elements as Water, Fire, Air, Earth and Space. Vastu strongly emphasizes that the water elements in the house should be in harmony with the five elements of nature. In Vastu, the North east quadrant of a house, plot of land, office complex or any abode is assigned to water.
Hence, the North east corner is most suited for storing drinking water, placing a fountain, or building a swimming pool or pond. North East is also the quadrant to drill a borewell for extracting water from the ground.
Following are the effects of placing water element in different directions, as per Vastu:

Following are the effects of placing water element in different directions, as per Vastu:
- Water in North-East blesses the occupants with abundance and good health and finances.
- Water in the East blesses the occupants with happiness, harmony and good finance.
- South East is the direction of Fire Element and hence water in this area is to be avoided.
- Water in the South invites diseases to the occupants.
- South west direction is governed by earth element and must be heavy and closed. Placing an underground water tank, pond, swimming pool or borewell in this direction may cause hurdles to the owner. You can place an overhead water tank in this direction which will prove beneficial as the water will then act to provide heaviness to this quadrant.
- The ruling lord of the west direction is Goddess Lakshmi. Since money and water are both fluidic in nature, placing a water element here will help in wealth accumulation.
- .Water in the Northwest increases your enemies, so avoid placing water here.
- Health, Wealth and success can be increased by placing water in the North direction

I wish to place an aquarium in the north-east corner of my hall which also happens to be in the north side of the flat. The aquarium will be just infront of the entrance of my house.
Please suggest is it is alright also which fishes should I keep. As much as I know its only gold fishes in even number and one black Fish.
