There are three ways to burn camphor for cleaning the environment.
1. Burn it on a metallic plate with a matchstick and roam with this flame in all corners of the house.
2. Use a camphor vaporizer (a small bowl mounted on a stand with a candle holder below it). Put the camphor crystals in the bowl and light a candle below it. This will burn the camphor slowly and spread the fragrance in the environment. I am unable to find its image on the web that would have simplified its description.
Alternatively you can use Loban (Styrax Benzoin) and fumigate the house with its smoke.
You can also find incense sticks containing Loban in it. It not only purifies the house but also acts as an excellent repellent of insects and mosquitoes. It is said that the Holy Prophet has advised fumigation of the house with Loban.
If you feel any discomfort due to Loban or Camphor then you may be allergic to it and in that case stop using it immediately.
