August 8, 2008 a combination of 8-8-8 is appearing after 100 years. No Brainer right? Yes, but what is no brainer is that this day is an auspicious, marvellous and astonishing day of our lifetime. Last year I wrote on the significance of 07/07/07 which is till date the most read post on this blog. I could see visitors on this page till December 2007. I hope this post is also equally well received.
In greek in which most of the ancient text on Christianity including the Book of Revelation, 888 means "JESUS". In Christianity it is allegoric to Christ's sacrifice on the Cross.
In Tarrot, 8 denotes "Strength" and in numerology it is the number of "building" and as per one theory it is the number of "destruction". In numerology, 8 is also represented by the planet Saturn which is known to be a Judge. It gives tremendous power to do research work and insight to know the higher self. On August 8, 2008, the Nakshatra will be the Swati Nakshatra. As per astrology, the Lord of Swati Nakshatra is Rahu which is also the 8th Planet in Vedic Astrology.
In China, Eight Immortals are Chinese dieties. In China, eight is considered as a lucky number because it sounds like the word - "prosper" or "wealth". Eight is the symbol of eternity - never ending and forever remaining.
Some of the mishaps effecting mankind are also related to the number 8. The recent tsunami which created a lot of loss to human life in South Asia occured on Dec 26, 2004. On Jan 26, 2001 earthquake happened in Bhuj (in Gujarat, India). July 26, 2005 was the day when Mumbai, the Commercial capital of India got submerged in water. There have been some predictions of a possible calamity on 08/08/08 but I am praying with crossed fingers that nothing untoward should happen and the day should become a memorable day with fond memories for the mankind.
God Bless!!
