Maintaining your Lucky Bamboo Plant

Plant the lucky bamboo plant in a small pot filled with pebbles and water. Change the water at least once a week. As long as the water is clean and clear, simply refilling the bowl will keep the lucky bamboo healthy. You can also add a dilute fertilizer once a month or two months to give it a boost. Do not use fluoridated or chlorinated water to water the bamboo plant, use distilled water instead. You can also grow the lucky bamboo in soil.
Lucky bamboo comes bundled together with red string, remove the red string and tie it with a green or brown string.
A yellowing leaf is usually due to exposure to too much light and will eventually progress down the stalk. If one of the stalks turns yellow remove it from the container or it may sicken the remaining stalks. Try to keep the same level of water when replenishing it. The water is where the roots will form and if you raise the water level, it will grow more roots. Also this plant should be placed in warmer area, generally 60 degrees Fahrenheit or above, as this is a tropical plant and needs warm temperature to flourish.
Here are a few words of care. Many plants in the dracaena family have toxic properties and can be dangerous to pets and small children. It is best to keep them out of reach of tiny fingers.
