There is nothing wrong with Wood. Only as per Feng Shui's destructive cycle, metal cuts wood and North West is the sector of Metal element hence, it is not advised to use wood in this sector in the energizer.
You can use incense and flower to honor Buddha in this sector only the Buddha statue placed in this sector should not be made of wood
