Follow These Feng Shui Tips To Sleep Better

If you are finding it difficult to have a sound and relaxing sleep or you simply wish to improve your sleeping, you should follow the feng shui tips I have detailed in this post and let this ancient Chinese wisdom help you. A sound sleep is important to relax your body from the tiredness of work during the day and make it ready for a attentive day full of energy and vigor ahead.

First of all, it is very important to avoid sleeping with the head towards the door. The bead should be so placed that it allows you to see the door without being right across from it. You should always avoid sleeping with your feet right in front of the entrance.

Feng Shui principles also suggest not to sleep under a beam. The strain in the beam can have its negative effect on your conscious making sleep difficult.

Avoid sleeping under a window. Sleeping right under a window would have a bad impact on your pranic energy (called chi) as well as it might cause you to loose some of your positive energy by dispersing it. In case you have no option but to sleep under a window, then you should hang a curtain which doesn't allow bad chi to enter.

Water bodies (like fountains) or pictures of water in the room is also not recommended by Feng Shui. This can cause insomnia as well as attract bad luck to those who sleep into the room. If you have any object representing water, please remove it specifically if you are suffering from insomnia.

There should not be any pointing objects pointing to your bed. Pointing arrows can be caused by edge of a furniture or by a pillar. In case you find a pointing edge you can cover it by a vine (these days you can find artificial vines in plastic which will act as effectively as a natural one). You can also place a plant between the pointing edge and the bed.

Hi MaaUmpa
Wow every one of these things is how my bedroom is laid and I struggle to sleep at night, often waking feeling as if I have hardly slept at all. Thanks I shall try to change things and see how it works.

Also have a look to see that you are not sleeping with your head in the North direction. Read my post - "The Best Direction to Sleep" to know more.

Good Luck

Our room is designed in such a way that we have to sleep facing the door. However, I have moved the bed closer to the wall so that the feet don't point directly towards the door. Is this arrangement okay.

Also I have a mirror in front of the bed. And I have been having some health issues. Which is the best direction for the mirror to face since I don't have a separate dressing room in my apartment?

Thanks,

V. Shashi

Dear VSK

Most likely your health problems are related to these defects regarding door and mirror. The good part is that there are solutions.

I will have to do a complete Vastu Analysis of your house for that and that will be a paid service.

Please send me a map with directions marked in an Email and I will send you the costs. You can also get just the bedroom Vastu OKed by me at lesser costs.
