Chinese people often use ideograms - Chinese words - to make artwork that carries emotional and psychological meaning. The Double Happiness symbol is possibly the most famous Chinese character around - its symbolizes strong and eternal spritual and physical love between your romantic partner and you. It is a symbol used for bringing conjugal and marital bliss to life. It is supposed to bring a double dose of happiness to all around it. You can surely find it as a cut-out put at the entrance of a marriage venue in China and also a typical wedding gift to bring happiness to the new union.
In Chinese calligraphy, this symbol represents "happiness' written twice. Others say that the ideogram resembles two people, a bride and a groom holding hands in wedded bliss.
Many people are true believers of this love rich symbol and I have many success stories about warring couples suddenly in love by utilizing this symbol in their lives as per my guidance.
Though the traditional usage of the double happiness symbol is actually to activate good marriage luck, one can also use it effectively to bring in harmony in the family, overcoming sibling rivalry and in any situation in home and office requiring a positive environment. Just place it in your bedroom, living room, office where it is visible and see the effect instantaneously. For marital bliss place it in your bedroom in the South West Corner to activate love luck.
As all things Chinese, the Double Happiness symbol has its own fascinating legend to its creation too. You can read this interesting story on this page at About.Com.
The description above is as per Chinese mythology and success depends on individuals and faith.
God Bless!

Years ago, I attended an Alternative Faith seminar as a guest speaker. I was speaking on the power of words. While I was engaged in business and networking, my son attended a few of the other workshops. His most enjoyed learning experience during that trip was a seminar on Sigil Magick. Not to down-play your own knowledge, but to clarify for those who may be reading and do not know, Sigil magick is the act of sketching a symbol, or a type of glyph.... a way of drawing "portals" or to manifest thought in physical form.
I'm fortunate that my son is an old soul and immediately spotted potential dangers in dealing with this form of magick, so he absorbed the information but has never attempted to put it into practice.
My question, then, is does this symbol work in the same way as Sigil Magick, where it draws in an energy to which we become exposed, or is it more of a psychological impression that it leaves on our minds when we see it?
Long story short, HOW does it work? I don't dispute that it CAN work, I'm just wondering about the mechanics of it all. How can a symbol bring about luck or happiness? There's got to be more to it than ink on paper (carvings in stone, paint on a canvas, etc).
You've got great topics here and I can see I'm going to have to discipline myself in order to stay focused on my own tasks at hand! I could easily spend a day doing nothing but reading your blog!!

So you show this symbol to someone who does not understand the meaning of it (who does not know that it is called double happiness or that it has happiness written twice in Chinese Character). Those from China will definitely benefit because of this.
For non-Chinese, unless they have read about it or have heard of the story behind it, they will not be able to benefit from it.
Though in Feng Shui it is considered to be a symbol, it is actually a script unlike Bamboo Plant or Laughing Buddha.
