Basic Tenets of Vastu: Layout of an Ideal House

January 2nd 2007 05:23
Category: Vastu
In the "Basic tenets of Vastu" series of posts, I will explain Vastu principles in simple language such that all my interested readers can follow them easily without consulting a Vastu expert. If one is able to assimilate these simple principles explained in this series, and is able to relate to these principles when making a decision on his dwelling, he need not look any further as his house will be aligned to Vastu and help in achieve prosperity, health, wealth, harmony, love and peace - all a human wants in life but appears as a mirage to him.
In this first post on the topic, I and going to explain the basic layout of an ideal vastu aligned house. Of course you can use this when you are designing the layout of the house which you want to construct on a vacant land. Alternatively, if you are already staying in a bungalow, you can use the knowledge in this post to find out how much is your home aligned to Vastu.

When designing your home place the different rooms and places as follows:

Prayer Room - North East
Open Space - North East
Guest Room - North West
Kitchen - South East
Master Bedroom - South West
Bedroom for Children or married son - South
Living Room, drawing room and Dining Hall - West
Baths and Toilets - West

Ideal Layout of a House
Ideal Layout of a House as per Vastu

As per vastu it is fruitful to have greenery (garden) in the open space in North East.

Feel free to write your comments and address your queries and doubts on Vastu to astroupma@gmail.com. It will be my pleasure to answer them for the benefit of all my readers. Please be assured that queries of personal nature will be addresses in strict confidence.

God Bless You !!

The main directions in my house is on the corners i.e. when we place a compass in the centre we face north east and on back is south west and so on... making it a diagonal for north, south, east and west on the four corners. i believe that a correction of 10 degrees is allowed whichever direction is closer : for east (move to anti-clockwise) and for north (move to clockwise), if i am correct or its vice-versa; but here its almost the midpoint !

any sugestions.

Dear Rajat

Sure your house does not fit into the basic tenets of Vastu and needs to be studied in details. Request you to send me a personal message and I will respond on the next steps for a proper consultation on this topic.

Hi Chris

What I write here in this blog is based out of the general principles of Vastu. A great deal of difference be made if one studies the astrological charts of the client and then laysout the house as perthe position of his strong and weak planets. I will make a huge difference.

I suggest you undertake a paid consultation over email with me to take this forward. You may write in to astroupma@gmail.com and we will take it forward from there.
