Astro-Vastu: Giving Vastu a Personal Touch
May 17th 2007 06:35
The word “Vastu” is a combination of Vaas (the place) and Vayakti ( the person) who is dwelling in that place. It is an ancient science which gives us deep information of the place, its direction and Lord of the respective directions. The laws of Vastu are same for each person, because rules are same for each every one.
One might argue that every country has different climate and weather, each person living has various desires, hobbies and views about life. In a family every member has different aspiration, so how can the same rule be applied on every one.
Astrology when combined with Vastu, fulfills this requirement. There are 12 Zodiac sign and every human being come under one zodiac sign. Their nature, hobby, profession, property, family, health and wealth are controlled by planets. When Astrology is applied with Vastu it becomes Astro-Vastu and gives you the rules for your own favourable personal space.
One of my client was an engineer. According to the generic principles of Vastu, he chose a North facing home but he was not getting timely promotions. I suggested him to close North entrance of his house and open the west entrance. As in his both his charts, Saturn is the key planet and his profession also comes under Lordship of planet Saturn. After few days he got his due promotion.
There is also a myth related South direction. In Vastu South is the direction of “Yam” the god of death. So mostly people try to avoid South direction but this direction is ruled by planet Mars, which gives courage and energy to work. If Mars is well placed in natal chart, one can happily stay in a south facing home.
These were some examples to show Astro-Vastu gives a personal touch to solve your specific problems and hence is more effective for an individual. The only problem is that it cannot be learned by reading books which to a certain extent you can do for understanding the general principles of Vastu.

Vastu is indeed Indian gift to the world. Some say that Chinese Priests visited India to study Indian Culture and learned Vastu which formed the basis of Feng Shui (which is the Chinese Adaptation of Vastu based on blending with Chinese Culture). The irony is that Chinese were able to propogate Feng Shui to the Western world much better than Indians were able to do.
Welcome to the Vastu Journey!
