An Introduction to Vastu

January 1st 2007 07:52
Category: Vastu
Since I am dedicating this blog to Vastu, it is worthwhile to start with an introduction to this Science for the benefit of my avid readers.

Vastu, like Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedas and Zero is India's gift to mankind. Vastu is the art and science of placement in a dwelling as per Vedic principles. Vastu helps us in making our dwelling conducive to attract all the positives in life. Vastu which believes in co-ordination of the elements in the house, is being used as a tool to maximize comfort for human beings.

Vastu principles were formulated keeping in mind the cosmic influence of the sun, its light and heat, solar energy, directions of the wind, effect of moon on earth, the earth's magnetic field and the influence of cosmos on earth.

The ancient Indian sages had great knowledge of universe, life and human needs. Especially, in the case of constructing their dwelling, they took great care to make sure that it gave the inhabitants a positive source of energy. It is a science which is more than 5000 years old and its principles are applicable across the globe and beneficial to followers of all religion be it Hindus, Christians or Muslims. This is because Vastu is a science and science is not limited to any religion.

The ever growing popularity of Vastu is due to fact that its principles can create a subtle conducive environment in the dwelling that gives health, prosperity, happiness and harmony to the inhabitants and them achieve the best in themselves. Vastu regulates the relation between man and his environment.

Vastu is a practical science that puts optimism in you and makes your sub-conscious work for you to find ways to achieve your goals.

In the subsequent posts, I aim to bring out the concepts of Vastu in a simple language to make my readers self-equipped to practice this science and realize its benefits. I request your support and patronage in this endeavor. Feel free to write me with your comments, feedback and questions.

May the New Year bring good life for all of us ! God Bless !!

Hi MaaUpma
This is very interesting I look forward to reading more. I think your environment plays a huge part in your personal development.
Just a question - I see you write 'God Bless' at the end of your post. Are you religious? And if so how does Vastu tie in with your beliefs?
Thanks
Ash

Hi Ash

Great to recieve a comment immediately after creating the blog. Regarding your question on Religion - I am a believer like more than 95% of human population. I believe God is omnipresent and like he has created humanity, he has also created all these sciences like Medicine, architecture, engineering, physics, Vastu, astrology, and others. All the scientists who contributed to these science were blessed with the intellect to bring these sciences and their positive benefits to the mankind.

Vastu can act as a medium to make you achieve your destiny created for you by God. In any case, whether you are a believer or not, Vastu is beneficial to one and all.

I really mean it when I write God Bless at the end of my posts. Looking forward to your continuing support to both my blogs.

Happy New Year and happy travelling !

Dear Rajani

You are absolutely correct with a small difference. Underground water (as in Swimming Pool, underground water tank, Well or Boring) is not recommended as per Vastu principles.

As per Vastu, this may lead to health and mental problems in the female members of the house.

Suggest you take expert advise from a Vastu Consultant before finalizing on the deal.

You can send me complete details of the proposed house if you want me to give a detailed opinion. Contact me at mshrivastava2005@rediffmail.com and I will be glad to help.
